Moving at a brisk pace, Virginia Tech's offense looked ahead of schedule for this time of the year, quite crisp and polished in the Hokies' first full-scale scrimmage since camp opened.
"I thought it was one of the more productive first offensive scrimmages we've had around here," head coach Frank Beamer said.
Running back J.C. Coleman reeled off a 52-yard run and quarterbacks Logan Thomas and Mark Leal looked comfortable throwing behind an improved line in a 78-play scrimmage that favored the offense Saturday.
